Hail Damage Repair

Hail storms can do more than just damage automobiles. Hail can also cause damage to roofs and siding on houses. What many people do not realize is that your home owner's insurance will in most cases cover the cost of replacing your roof and your siding after a hail storm.

Your roof shingles are composed of an asphalt paper that is coated with small rock granules. The asphalt paper is waterproof, but will degrade under the ultraviolet (UV) rays of the sun. The small rock granules protect the shingles from the UV rays of the sun. Hail will hit your roof hard and knock off these granules and even damage the underlying asphalt paper of the shingle.

Most vinyl siding is impervious to hail damage, but the older style metal siding will get all marked up during a hailstorm. Your insurance company will pay for this to replace your siding and often your gutters.

When this happens you need an insurance specialist for hail damage to work with you and your insurance company to replace your roof and siding.
